Joe DiBiase reporting

The Buffalo Bills have announced that both defensive end Shaq Lawson and wide receiver Jordan Matthews have been placed on injured reserve, ending their seasons. Lawson was considered week to week with an ankle sprain, while Matthews has been battling a knee injury for the last few weeks.

We've promoted Brandon Reilly and Cap Capi to the 53-man roster.

Matthews finishes the season with just 25 catches for 285 yards and 1 touchdown. He'll be a free agent this upcoming offseason. As for Lawson, his support in run defense was praised at times throughout the year, while he struggled to get pressure on the quarterback. Lawson finishes his second year with just 4 sacks.

Fans will recognize the name Brandon Reilly, as many clamored for him to make the 53-man roster coming out of training camp. The undrafted rookie out of Wisconsin has been on the practice squad all season, and now gets the call to the active roster.

Defensive end Capi Cap has played 4 games in his career, all with the Giants. He was signed to the Bills practice squad on November 21st.

To fill the empty spots on the practice squad, the Bills have signed punter Cory Carter, and safety Dean Marlowe. Marlowe is in his 3rd year, and spent time under Sean McDermott with the Panthers in 2015. Carter was cut by the Texans in September, and was a Third-Team All-American at Texas Southern his senior year in college.
