Alexander has said that he had interest in returning to the Bills for the 2019 campaign, and both sides have come to terms to make that happen.

The 2018 season was one of the best seasons for the 12th-year veteran, registering 74 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, 10 quarterback hits and two interceptions. Alexander was one of Buffalo's biggest impact players on the defensive side of the ball, playing multiple positions including strong and weakside linebacker. He has also lined up on and off the ball as a rush down lineman, as well as his usual stand-up linebacker spot.

One of the biggest impacts Alexander has had with this Bills team is his role as a leader in the locker room and on the field.

In his three seasons with the Bills, Alexander has dressed for all 48 games in the regular season with 203 total tackles, 28 tackles for loss, 22.0 sacks, 47 quarterback hits and three interceptions. He also started in last year's AFC Wild Card matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars, registering seven tackles and a sack.

Alexander will be 36-years-old by the time the 2019 season kicks off in September.

Bills now have 7 remaining pending UFAs:
DT Jordan Phillips
OL Ryan Groy
OT Jordan Mills
OL Jeremiah Sirles
OG John Miller
RB/ST Taiwan Jones
WR Deonte Thompson
