The Bills only had three defensive tackles heading into their second game with Star Lotulelei, Kyle Williams and Harrison Phillips after they released Adolphus Washington after Week One. Thomas was signed off of the practice squad, leaving one spot open on the Bills practice squad.

Kerley was often seen as third on the Bills depth chart at wide receiver, earning a job after the preseason. Kerley suited up for Week One, catching 2 passes for 7 yards. The Bills depth chart at wide receiver now is Kelvin Benjamin, Zay Jones, Andre Holmes, Robert Foster and Ray-Ray McCloud III.
