The Buffalo Bills have decided to cut bait with WR Kelvin Benjamin.

Acquired in the 2017 trade deadline, Benjamin has failed to live up to expectations from the team after being acquired from the Carolina Panthers for a 2018 third and seventh round pick. Benjamin has wound up with incredibly underwhelming numbers in his 18 games with Buffalo, with 39 catches for 571 yards and 2 touchdowns. Benjamin has been plagued by drops on jump balls, which is one of Benajmin's strengths in his game, while his effort has been questioned by media and fans alike. Benjamin's snap count has been reduced as the season has gone on, with Buffalo now cutting bait on the former 2014 first rounder from Florida State.

In addition to the Benjamin release, Buffalo also released receiver Andre Holmes and placed center Russell Bodine on injured reserve. Buffalo has filled two of the roster spots, bringing in defensive end Mike Love and cornerback Denzel Rice from their practice squad.

Holmes led the Bills in receiving touchdowns last season and had 25 catches for 277 yards and 3 touchdowns in his 26 games as a Bill.
