The Sabres have hit a losing skid, with five straight games going to the loss column. With the recent struggles and the Sabres blueline getting healthier, Sabres GM Jason Botterill stopped by 716 Food & Sport on Thursday ahead of Sabres-Hurricanes to chat with Schopp & the Bulldog.

Botterill spoke on the depth on the blueline, Rasmus Dahlin's recent play, etc. Here's some of the best from his time with the guys.

On Dahlin's struggles:

On the blueline getting healthier:

"We have options now. Jokiharju has given us another opportunity, another option. He & Scandealla has some good chemistry. Great to see Zach Bogosian, it's been a long road for him to get back. It's still going to take some time until he's 100% game ready."

On the secondary scoring:

"Are there forwards that can produce more? Yeah. I've liked how Ralph has moved some things around... Sometimes Ralph will throw Jeff up with Jack and Sam, but you're not just trying to find one line, you're trying to find a balance."

On the decision to recall Curtis Lazar over Tage Thompson:

"Was impressed with (Lazar's) ability to get to the net, finish checks, his ability in PK situations... Tage is doing well. He's certainly creating a lot of chances. He understands what the process is."
