No further details have been released as the investigation is still ongoing, but Kelly did not resist arrest.

This isn't the local product's first run in with the law or off the field issues. Kelly was arrested in 2014 after a nightclub brawl where he allegedly told a bouncer that he was going to "get my AK-47 and spray this place". He served 50 hours of community service for that incident.

While at Ole Miss in 2016, Kelly ran onto the field of a local high school football game between Timon and St. Joes. Kelly's little brother had been hit out of bounds and a brawl ensued. Kelly ran onto the field to get involved and had to be restrained.

Before becoming the starting quarterback at Ole Miss, Kelly was dismissed from Clemson's football team for conduct detrimental to the team. He also had an invite to the NFL Combine rescinded for personal background reasons.

Kelly had, seemingly, cleaned up his act since being picked with the final pick of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Broncos. After spending his entire rookie season on injured reserve, he beat out former first round pick Paxton Lynch for the backup quarterback job in Denver. There have been calls by many fans in Denver to have him start over the struggling Case Keenum. Now, Kelly will have to go back to focusing on cleaning up his image instead of cleaning up his game.
