Duke Williams and Vincent Taylor land on the reserve/COVID list

Buffalo Bills players have been reporting to the team facilities in the last week for COVID-19 testing, with practices set to begin in the next week. Wide receiver Duke Williams and defensive tackle Vincent Taylor may not be on the field for the first practice. Both have landed on the reserve/COVID list.

Williams and Taylor either tested positive for COVID or have been in close contact someone who did. They can return as soon as they've cleared testing protocols of multiple negative tests in a row.

In 2019, Duke Williams became an interesting figure for the Bills receiver group. After fans clamored for Wiliams to get a chance to start, Williams posted 12 receptions on 19 targets for 166 yards and one touchdown, in three starts.

Maybe the biggest impact Williams had was showing the Bills staff in the playoffs in Houston, that Josh Allen needed an upgrade at the starting receiver spot, opposite John Brown. Against Houston, Williams hauled in just four of ten targets for 49 yards.

Vincent Taylor played just three games for the Bills last season, after a couple of seasons in Miami. He is a candidate for an increased role on the interior of the defensive line, after Star Lotulelei opted out for the 2020 season.

Meanwhile, around the NFL, the Detroit Lions had two of their top offensive players land on the reserve/COVID list, with second year tight end T.J. Hockenson and top wide receiver Kenny Golladay.
