Gameday: Bills open game with a 17-0 lead

September 23, 2018 - 1:43 pm

The Buffalo Bills started their game against the Minnesota Vikings as a 16.5 point underdog. But it is the Bills who held a 17-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The Bills marched down the field with the first drive, ending in the first career rushing touchdown for Josh Allen. While the drive was aided by a pair of Vikings penalties, the Bills took their first lead of the 2018 season on the opening drive. The Bills didn't stop there, however. The Bills defense got a pair of sacks and forced a pair of fumbles on Kirk Cousins. The first fumble forced ended in a field goal and a 10-0 lead after Kelvin Benjamin dropped a pass that would have put the Bills on the MIN 1.

The Bills forced another fumble of Cousins, capitalizing on that turnover with a 26-yard touchdown pass to Jason Croom and a 17-0 lead only 10 minutes into the game.
