Housley - If we play the right way, we're going to get results

The Buffalo Sabres are looking to end a five game losing streak that comes off the heels of their ten game winning streak. While the team has struggled, Buffalo can get back on track against the Los Angeles Kings and Arizona Coyotes this week.

Head coach Phil Housley joined Howard and Jeremy on Tuesday to talk more on the team's play overall, getting past the ugly loss to Philadelphia, how the team can bounce back and more. Here's some of what Housley on Tuesday morning with Howard and Jeremy:

On the team's performace overall despite a 5 game losing streak:

"It's one of those things, you get into a little rut, I didn't mind the way we've played the last four out of the five games. Except for the game in Florida, we're playing some good competition and going into tough buildings. In saying that, we've got to find a way to win some of those games. But, obviously, the game against Philly sticks in my mind, a lot of people's minds. It was just one of those days that we were off."

On the team's poor performace against the Flyers:

"We didn't respond the right way, we didn't face the adversity at that point the right way. They get that fourth goal and fifth and sixth goal was just sort of the way the whole game went where our checking detail was not where it needed to be, and that's the result you're going to get."

"So, what do you do? Your emotions get the most of you at the end of the game because you're upset, in your own building, in front of your own fans. There's going to be games like that, I understand it, but I just didn't like the way we finished right to the end."

On what has been missing from the team during this losing streak:

"If we play the right way, we're going to get results. Is it going to be tonight (against the Kings)? We'd really hope it would be tonight, we don't have a crystal ball. But if we play consistently, the way we know how to play, we will get the results."

"If you're having trouble scoring goals, you have to go to the net hard. That's one thing we can control. Getting back to a shot mentality, putting pucks from everywhere on the net, going there and paying a price to score a goal, getting dirty. It might not be pretty, but it's certainly effective. That's one of the things we got away from in these last five games. We're around the net but we're not over the top of the goalie."

"It might hit your shin pad, you might get a second opportunity, there might be a third opportnity for a guy trying to get to the net, the puck might bounce free. That's how you can turn it around."
