The Sabres have not been inspiring fans as of late, as they now sit seven points back of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Sabres General Manager Jason Botterill joined Schopp & the Bulldog on Tuesday before the team's matchup with the Vegas Golden Knights, to try and answer questions on the recent struggles.

From trades, to prospects, to players on the team, here is some of the best from Botterill's visit with the guys.

Botterill on losing to good teams:

Botterill on whether the playoffs are realistic:

Botterill on young forwards in the organization:

"Victor Olofsson has had a great season. Tage's situation is a disappointment. There were things he was working on in Rochester, I think he did that. Casey (Mittelstadt) could be up here right now surviving, but we don't want him for that. We want him to be a consistent part of our offensive punch."

Botterill on whether the playoffs are realistic:

"Some teams will get hot. Our focus has to be on how we play. Ralph has mentioned a lot about winning two out of three. We haven't had the results yet. We still have to improve. We're not an elite team by any means. Should we be in the conversation for playoffs? Yeah."

Botterill on making trades:

"We want to make trades. We want to add to our group. People ask if we're waiting for the trade deadline. We're not waiting for the deadline. We're trying to proceed with some things that haven't materialized"
