For the second time in four years, a race horse has won the Triple Crown. After winning the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes, Justify backed both wins up with a win a the 150th Belmont Stakes. Jockey Mike Smith rode Justify to victory. Trainer Bob Baffert, who also trained American Pharaoh, wins his second Triple Crown in four years.

With the win, Justify became the first undefeated horse to win the Triple Crown since Seattle Slew did it in 1977. After going 37-months without a Triple Crown winner, not even 37-months passed between American Pharaoh and Justify.

Justify was a 4-5 favorite to win the Belmont Stakes. He didn't race as a two year old and had never raced on a mile and a half track, but that didn't stop the Triple Crown champ. In fact he didn't make his debut until April 18th. Justify will race in the Breeders Cup on November 2nd.
