From the Locker Room: Sabres-Rangers

November 04, 2018 - 9:49 pm

The Sabres started fast, but fell asleep for a few minutes to start the second period. A few quick goals by New York was enough to take down Buffalo on the back end of a back-to-back. Rangers' G Henrik Lundqvist stopped 39 of 40 shots on goal to help his team beat the Sabres 3-1.

Jimmy Vesey led the way for the Rangers, tallying two goals. Meanwhile, Conor Sheary is responsible for the lone Buffalo tally on the evening.

Carter Hutton allowed 2 goals on 21 shots, but was blinded for both goals that slipped past.

Go inside the locker room to hear what Jack Eichel, Phil Housley, Conor Sheary and Carter Hutton have to say.

Phil Housley:

On the fast start: "I really liked the way we played from start to finish, obviously we'd want to take back two or three shifts to start the second period, but other than that I thought we controlled the play."

On the effort tonight: "We had a lot of good looks... I like the way we played tonight, if we continue to play like that we are going to win a lot of hockey games."

Carter Hutton:

On the first goal: "I think it caught [McCabe]... I think it hit him in the elbow and ended up in the net... a tough break."
