February 05, 2019 - 10:25 pm

The Sabres were able to withstand a late comeback by the Minnesota Wild to get the 5-4 shootout win. It was a volatile game that saw Buffalo get out to a 3-1 lead before the Wild evened the score. Following a third period Sam Reinhart goal that gave Buffalo a 4-3 lead, the Wild converted to tie the game at 4 and force overtime. After the eventful overtime, the game advanced to a shootout where Sam Reinhart would get the only Buffalo goal.

Linus Ullmark stopped 41 of 45 shots that came his way, in addition to his three shootout stops that secured the win for the Sabres. Ullmark appeared to have been injured on the final shootout stop, but was still made available for post-game interviews.
