The Buffalo Bills won their final preseason game in comeback fashion, 28-27 over the Chicago Bears. AJ McCarron played the whole game under center for the Bills, as he weathered through a rough start of the game. An early Bears field goal was compounded with McCarron's first interception, a pick-six to Chicago's Doran Grant that made it 10-0 Chicago.

McCarron and the Bills offense couldn't bounce back on the next drive after another sack took the team out of field goal range. The Bears responded with a lengthy 10 play drive and added another field goal, as Parkey's 23 yard field goal to extend the Bears' lead to 13-0. Buffalo couldn't muster anything out of a 32 yard kick return by receiver Ray-Ray McCloud, with another three and out. The Bears tacked on another touchdown on a 32 yard touchdown by running back Ryan Nall to make it 20-0 Chicago.

Buffalo's next drive resulted in McCarron's second interception, as a tipped pass ended up in the arms of Chicago's John Timu. The Bears failed on a field goal, but took a 20-0 lead to the half.

The Bills got a field goal on their first drive of the second half, set up by a 44-yard run by running back Travaris Cadet. The drive stalled after McCarron had to throw away three straight passes. Hauschka ended the drive with a 42 yard field goal to finally get the Bills on the board, 20-3.

The Bears added another touchdown, this time a 1 yard run from Knile Davis to make it a 27-3 Bears lead. McCarron did get the Bills into the end zone, with a 5 yard run for the score. The Bills failed on the 2-point conversion, cutting the Bears lead to 27-9. The Bills got an interception from cornerback Breon Borders, which McCarron took advantage of with a 24 yard touchdown to Robert Foster. It was McCarron's first passing touchdown of the preseason.

McCarron then connected for another touchdown to cut the lead to 27-22, with a 6 yard touchdown pass to Malachi Dupre. However, the Bills again failed to score on a 2 point conversion. The Bills got the ball back again before the two minute warning, and McCarron and the Bills took the lead with 13 seconds left to complete the comeback thanks to a 6 yard touchdown pass to Keith Towbridge.
