McCoy still in protocol, but practicing on a limited basis

Orchard Park, NY (WGR550) - Bills’ running back LeSean McCoy is still in the league’s concussion protocol, but he was a limited participant here at Thursday’s practice.  That’s a positive step for McCoy, who left last Sunday’s game in Indianapolis after the second play from scrimmage with a head injury.

Defensive end Trent Murphy, who didn’t finish the game against the Colts due to a knee injury, did not practice.  Neither did running back Taiwan Jones, who missed last week’s game with a neck injury.

Veteran linebacker Lorenzo Alexander and defensive tackle Kyle Williams received rest days, typical for them on a Wednesday, but with the game on Monday night next week, Thursday's practice was treated as a normal Wednesday would be.

Here’s video of McCoy taking a handoff while wearing a red non-contact jersey, as well as quarterback Josh Allen working with trainers as he recovers from a sprained elbow.  Allen is still not participating in practice.

Here's a look at Josh Allen working with trainers at practice just now. Can see him wince still during certain movements and pressure points on shoulder. He's out this week vs. Pats with elbow sprain. #Bills
