Joe DiBiase reporting

You may remember hearing about Da Beauty League last summer. A 4-on-4 hockey league that takes place in Edina, Minnesota. The league features many NHL players, including the likes of Zach Parise, Brock Boeser, James van Riemsdyk, Dustin Byfuglien, etc.

Last season Kyle Okposo played in Da Beauty League, helping get back onto the ice after his health issues at the end of the 2017 season. Zach Bogosian was among other Sabres that played last year.

This year, the Sabres have five players that will participate. Casey Mittelstadt will play for BIC Razors. Zach Bogosian and Amerks goaltender Adam Wilcox will play for Team Tria. Casey Nelson and C.J. Smith will play for Walser Auto Group.

A few former Sabres will be playing as well, including Drew Stafford, Chris Butler, and recently traded forward Hudson Fasching.

In Da Beauty League, teams compete for the John Scott Cup. A beautiful trophy, that is essentially a keg with stickers on it. There are a couple differences from NHL hockey. In Da Beauty League there are two 23-minute halves of 4-on-4 hockey.

If you're interested in getting a look at Mittelstadt, Nelson, Bogosian, etc. games are streamed at Games are only played on Wednesdays in July and August. Here's tonight's games involving Sabre players. You can find the entire schedule here.
