Joe DiBiase reporting

As training camp begins at St. John Fisher, the Buffalo Bills are still exploring players on the free agent market. Earlier in the week the team reportedly worked out tight end Clay Harbor. Today it's reportedly a running back.

Free agent RB Orleans Darkwa, who played last year for the #Giants, recently worked out for the #Bills, source said. He’s back to full health.

Darkwa has spent most of his career with the New York Giants, seeing his most significant playing time last season. Starting in 11-games, Darkwa rushed for 751 yards and five touchdowns. He added 19 receptions for 116 yards in the pass game. Described as a good between the tackles back, Darkwa has shown so far in his career that he's more balanced than once thought. While not overly dangerous as a receiver, he certainly can give you something in the pass game.

Oh yeah, and he did all of that with a plate in his leg. Playing through injury all year. Darkwa had offseason surgery this spring to remove the plate. He also visited with the Patriots earlier in free agency.

At 26-years old, Darkwa would become the youngest running back on the Bills roster, other than undrafted free agent rookie Keith Ford. He would provide some insurance in the Bills backfield if it happens that LeSean McCoy is not available to them.
