REPORT: Sabres expected to let Robin Lehner become UFA

June 21, 2018 - 5:41 pm

TSN's Bob McKenzie is reporting that the Buffalo Sabres are going to let goaltender Robin Lehner head to free agency and not qualify an offer to hold on to his rights.

BUF is not expected to give goaltender Robin Lehner his qualifying offer and he should be added to the list of UFA goalies available this summer as Sabres are likely to look elsewhere for a partner for Linus Ullmark.

Lehner has been the Sabres primary goaltender for the past three seasons, with a 42-61-22 record with a 2.77 goals against average and .917 save percentage in 133 starts for Buffalo.

Lehner was acquired by the Sabres from the Ottawa Senators on June 26, 2015 at the 2015 NHL Draft, along with David Legwand, for the 21st overall pick in 2015 (center Colin White).
